The LGBTQ community is exceedingly vast and growing by each passing second. More people are becoming aware of who they are and where they fit…or don’t fit in this world. Some are gay who define themselves as bears, jocks, twinks, lipstick or butch. Some feel they can’t quite fit any label. Others are discovering what it means to be born in the wrong body; having to embrace the term “transitioning.” At the same time, men and women are realizing they’re attracted to both sexes. All the while, some heterosexuals are just trying to make sense of it all.
WHAT IS THIS WEB SERIES ABOUT? WHAT’S THE POINT?
There are many questions that linger in our minds about the human condition. They seep into conversations we have with friends, family, our doctors, or even strangers. We might think we’re the only ones inquiring about certain things or feeling a certain way, but we might be surprised to discover everyone in the world is having the same conversations without even knowing it.
There’s always an urge…an impulse to speak when we hear topics on sexual identity, healthcare, religion, sex, social issues, love and this thing called life. There’s just never the right platform to share our point of view. It’s time we have an overdue discussion.
EMBRACE THAT IMPULSE • SPEAK YOUR MIND • LET YOURSELF BE HEARD
On Impulse is a project that brings together every thread in the LGBTQ community and weaves them together in a tapestry of diversity at its finest. We say: Embrace that impulse, speak your mind, let yourself be heard. Care to share? Well then…welcome to the round table.
*On Impulse* is a docuseries talk show, which invites a straight guy, a lesbian and a straight girl to host separate discussions with gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people in the community. Everyone has an impulse to speak when they hear topics about life, love, sex, religion, healthcare, drugs and social issues. Well, if you care to share, let yourself be heard. Welcome to the round table!
Nikki brings together Luis, Courtney, Art, Daniel and Ben to talk about STI’s in the LGBTQ and straight community.
